Did you know that you can have a huge impact, too? Let me tell you a little bit about our story to show you how.

 
A few years ago a friend of mine went abroad and the stories she brought home about an incredible woman taking care of almost 50 (now 60!) children in Kenya absolutely changed my life.

 
Back then, the orphanage led by Lindy Kisaka was facing a lot of financial challenges and possible eviction from their way too small home. The long-term goal was clear: to build a permanent home for all these incredible kids and provide them with the stability they deserve.

 
In 2020 we founded our NGO Smile for Children e.V. solely dedicated to this project and we have not stopped since then. Some months are very rough and sometimes we don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but we believe that together we can achieve anything.

 
Fast forward to today, and thanks to the amazing help from people across the country and literally all over the world, these children have a home and are provided with food, access to education and can finally enjoy their childhood. They have their own little chicken house, a solar system and water tanks to provide them with water from the rainy season.

 
In 2021 alone, we raised around 20 000 Euros to make this possible. What sounds like a lot is just enough to take care of 60 children and constantly improve their home to make it more sustainable. Every single Euro is so needed.

 
Each of our children is beautiful in its own way. They are kind, smart, funny and incredibly curious. And they deserve a today – and a tomorrow.
